Miracles By The Acre CSA
A Community Supported Agriculture Project
A CSA is:
An opportunity for you to have fresh vegetables, fruit, and flowers throughout the growing season while
supporting your local small farmers. By choosing to participate in a CSA you are making a conscience effort to value your local food security and your local economy.
Your decision to purchase a "share" in a local CSA supports your local farmer. Those farmers will grow and supply you with produce and goods that have not been shipped from miles away. You will be helping to develop a network of farmers and consumers that are striving to provide a dependable and local food supply for our community.
Your purchase of a "share" also supports our local economy. Your dollars traded with the farmers for your share stay local. The farmers spend those dollars locally to support and grow their farms.
How Does this work?:
With your purchase of a "share" you are developing a relationship and partnership
with your local farmer before the growing season even starts.
Your purchase guarantees the local farmer a market for what they grow and affords them
the opportunity to plan out their growing season.
In return for your purchase of a "share" you will receive locally grown produce and locally produced goods (like honey and cider). You will share in the bounty of nature. If one product grows in abundance then you will reap those rewards and if one happens to not fare as well then you will be compensated with the bounty of another. By entering into this with your local farmer you are actively taking control of your local food security.
How much is it?:
The cost per "share" is $360.00. This works out to $27.00 per week for the 13 week season.
$225.00 for half share, which works out to $17.00 a week.
By agreeing to purchase a "share" in the early Spring you will be providing the farmer with the funds necessary to start their financial planning for the season. And with the farmer knowing how many "shares"
have been purchased she can plant the gardens accordingly.
Your "share" is designed to provide a family of four with a majority of the produce and goods that can be utilized in a week. In the beginning weeks your "share" may not be as full, but as the season progresses your "share" will be overflowing with the most delicious locally grown produce and goods, all while developing local food security.
Throughout the season your share could include the following:
Radishes, Carrots, Scallions, Winter Squash, Green Beans, Tomatoes, Cucumbers,
Salad Greens, Cabbage, Assorted Herbs, Potatoes, Zucchini, Onions,
Sweet Corn, Peas, Beets, Peppers, Broccoli, Egg Plant, and Flowers
Note:
If you are interested in purchasing more produce for your
canning or freezing needs please let us know.
We'd be happy to help you learn how.
